Holy Trinity church closed as a place of regular worship in January, however plans are already afoot to refurbish the site and some development has already taken place. A very smart range of rooms are now available for businesses & community groups to make use of. The simple focus is upon creating welcoming environments where community groups & enterprise can flourish to help and regenerate the ageing building and area of Ryde. The landmark location with its tall spire is easy to reach, on foot or public transport and is already attractive as a meeting place for a whole range of groups who have taken the early opportunity to regularly book space there. Several toddler groups make use of both the indoor hall and the outdoor play space, discussions are ongoing with other children’s organisations, parenting groups and a whole lot more are appearing week by week, language courses, photography. The ‘Aspire Ryde’ face book page is being updated to keep people unto date about projects, room availability and open days. Wightblog was delighted to explore the site and discuss future possibilities, it is an exciting space with lots of available rooms for community groups to hire, meeting spaces, an ideal venue for children’s birthday parties or family get togethers. There is even a bowling ally under the building!
We are a community interest company therefore the profits are ploughed back into the building and its services to support local community development. To join the facebook page for more information click here
