CARWASH FOR SHOPPERS AND CHARITY CAKE SALE RAISE £300
On Saturday 29th June Windmills Preschool Ltd in Bembridge added over £250 to it’s fundraising total by promoting their HOP Move campaign at the Welcome Store in Lane End, Bembridge. Store owner Steve Warburton provided soap and water and volunteers for Windmills washed customer’s cars for the cost of a donation. Shoppers seemed very happy to have their vehicles cleaned, and requests for a repeat are being considered! Windmills also held a cake sale outside the store and raised another £50, bringing the total fundraising effort for Saturday 29th June to over £300. This will be added to the HOP Move total. Windmills has to raise up to £20k to fund the refurbishment of it’s new premises and to date has successfully raised nearly £4k already. The Village Inn on the High Street in Bembridge is playing host to a charity auction on Friday 6th July starting at 8.30pm. Offiicial auctioneer for Hose Rhodes Dickson, Rex Gully, will be wielding the gavel and there are over 70 lots worth over £5k to bid for. Combley Farm will be cooking a pig roast at the pub and Tim Boogaloo will be providing live music. It looks set to be a fantastic evening – open to all! Windmills are hopeful this auction will add considerably to their fundraising efforts.
